Colors of the French Quarter
With the warm golds, to the calming blues, historic greens, and deep mauves, the French Quarter is decorated with history, mystery, and eccentricity rarely found anywhere else in the world. Part of New Orleans charm is the colors that melt from home to building like they're telling a story that tourists want to experience and locals want to live. The Vieux Carré Historic District has been able to preserve the rich history of color by regulating paint options for French Quarter residents. And now thanks to Benjamin Moore and Helm Paint & Decorating they have created the Colors of the French Quarter limited edition collection. ( this list is in no way comprehensive.) It's important to apply for a permit before starting any paint project to get approved for the paint color of your choice!
https://vccfoundation.org/about-us/The Vieux Carré Commission (VCC) protects, preserves, and maintains the distinct architectural, historic character, and zoning integrity of the Vieux Carré, meaning "old square." Beyond just paint colors, the VCC regulates all repairs, alterations and construction that affect any building element exposed to outside air (whether visible from the street or not) of any building situated on private property in the French Quarter. This includes carriageways, alleyways, rear buildings, etc. If you're thinking of moving to the French Quarter, these are things to consider before renovating.
